The US and Denmark have struck a deal on Greenland after months of US President Donald Trump’s threat to annex the Danish territory by force.
The agreement is set to be formally signed at the UN General Assembly.
Defence expert Michael Shoebridge says Trump will tout the deal as a win but it is fundamentally similar to what Washington already had on the territory.
